2008 24 hrs of Lemans - Live Streaming Video Links

Here are a few options for watching the 76th running of the 24 hrs of Le Mans. Of course you can watch it on Speed if you’re in the US but unfortunately they will be breaking away for Nascar coverage during the day. If you don’t get Speed on your TV, you can try watching their feed using the TVU Player. Speed coverage is available on the TVU “Wheels” channel 53060. You can also watch live streaming video courtesy of Justin.tv (embedded below) and Eurosport. I believe the Eurosport feed is only available if you’re in Europe (unless you use a proxy) so I’m afraid I can’t verify that it’s working. For audio coverage, check out Radio Le Mans. You may be able to find some other links to live streaming video in this thread at the ten tenth’s forum. Enjoy the race!

Update: It looks like the Justin.tv Eurosport feed has switched to a horse riding event. Here’s another live feed from 24ur.com. I’ll try to post more if I find any.

2008 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona

In anticipation of the 2008 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, I thought I would fire up rFactor and turn a few laps around the road course in the prototype mod. Sadly, rFactor won’t unlock on my new PC so no blasting past the ferris wheel for me until I get my unlock code sorted out with ISI. I did notice that James Burroughs has an updated version of his Daytona Road Course for rFactor and GTR2 posted at his RealRacin.net downloads page. I look forward to checking that out when I’m up and running as the previous version was top notch and easily one of my favorite third party tracks. If you want to kill some time while you’re waiting for the green flag to drop, here’s a pretty good video from last year’s race:

This year’s race coverage starts at 1:00 PM EST on Fox and continues at 2:30 PM EST on the Speed Channel. If you don’t receive SpeedTV, you can try to watch streaming video of the race with the TVU Player.

The Onion Interviews a NASCAR Crew Chief

It was only a matter of time before The Onion got around to picking on NASCAR. This video is not as funny as some of their other satire but it’s still worth a watch. With a couple of tweaks here and there, it could easily pass for an NBC Sports interview.

24 Hours of Nürburgring Live Streaming Video

Just a heads up for you Green Hell fans. There are a couple of live streaming video feeds available from the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The race is currently under rain delay as it’s really pouring at the track.

ALMS: Streaming Video from the 12 Hours of Sebring

American Le Mans SeriesJust a quick note for you sports car fans. SpeedTV is providing free sreaming video from the 12 Hours of Sebring via their Onboard Pass service. It’s normally a premium service but Acura is picking up the tab today so it’s available to everyone. Most of the race will be broadcast on the Speed Channel itself but there will be a 3 hour break mid-day for some NASCAR Busch Series coverage (don’t get me started …) so this will be a nice option for the non-NASCAR fans. Here’s a link to the Speed Onboard Pass page where you can view the feeds. You will have to register (it’s free) and if you have trouble getting the site to work in FireFox, switch to Internet Explorer and you should be fine.
